LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Beer lovers from across the Commonwealth gathered at Waterfront Park on Saturday as the Kentucky Craft Bash returned to Louisville, transforming the Great Lawn into what organizers called Kentucky's largest taproom.
The annual event featured more than 50 Kentucky breweries offering approximately 150 samples of craft beer, cider and hard seltzer. Guests also enjoyed food from local vendors, live music and the opportunity to meet brewers from across the state.
The Kentucky Craft Bash serves as the largest annual fundraiser for the Kentucky Guild of Brewers, a nonprofit organization that supports and advocates for Kentucky's independent craft brewing industry.
Organizers said the festival is about more than sampling drinks, it's also an opportunity to discover local breweries and encourage visitors to support them beyond the event.
"This is the place where you can go try a bunch of different things," Kyle Jahn with Trellis Brewing said. "The best thing is afterwards, if you like something, go to that business, go get a pint, because chances are you're going to like that place, the vibe, everything about it if you like what's in that glass."
Proceeds from the event will help the Kentucky Guild of Brewers continue its work promoting and strengthening the state's growing craft beer community.
