The Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness said Friday the mosquitoes were found in the Highlands and Tyler Park neighborhoods.

A Louisville infectious disease specialist said a mosquito bite could lead to serious consequences for vulnerable groups of people.

Last week, the Clark County Health Department in southern Indiana reported a mosquito that had been trapped tested positive for West Nile.

The health department plans to conduct mosquito control in Irish Hill, NuLu and around Iroquois Park.
