Shepherdsville’s City Council reversed its earlier vote, allowing Mark 12 Ministries’ Grace Village project to move forward.

The shelter opened at 8 p.m. Thursday. It's the first night of the winter season it will be open.

According to Cooke, Bullitt County is one of the largest counties in the state without a homeless shelter and the only county surrounding Louisville without one

The shelter, run by Mark 12 Ministries, opened its doors Wednesday as a warming shelter during the day. 

A white flag shelter is opening in Bullitt County after a local organization found a creative way to get people out of the cold.

Bullitt County is in need of a new space for a white flag shelter this year.
