In some areas, two broods are coming from the ground this spring in numbers not seen in decades or perhaps centuries.

This spring, an unusual cicada double dose is about to invade a couple parts of the United States in what University of Connecticut cicada expert John Cooley called “cicada-geddon.” 

In the bullseye of the emergence is the Louisville area and southern Indiana.
