The $25 million project known as "9th Street Reimagined" is expected to be complete by August 2028. 

City leaders have discussed the reconfiguration of the 9th Street Divide for nearly 10 years.

The project has been in the works for nearly 10 years and, in 2022, received a federal grant to help fund the construction.

The shooting happened on Jan. 3, 2023 near Esquire Alley and Roy Wilkins Avenue at 1:30 p.m.
