LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man was critically injured Sunday morning after he was hit by a car in downtown Louisville and police believe it may have been intentional.

Aaron Ellis, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police, said officers responded just after 4 a.m. to a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle in the area of South 9th Street and West Broadway.

Police said the man was found in a nearby parking lot in the 600 block of Roy Wilkins Avenue. He was taken to UofL Hospital with critical and life-threatening injuries.

According to police, the driver of an unknown vehicle likely hit the man intentionally.

LMPD’s Homicide Unit is investigating and there are no known suspects.
