Justin Leonard and Stewart Cink will be assistants to Ryder Cup captain Jim Furyk in Ireland next year. Furyk made the announcement during a television interview at the Kentucky Derby. The Americans have not won on the road since 1993. Leonard has never been an assistant captain, but he worked under Furyk at the last Presidents Cup. Furyk called him his right-hand man. Leonard is best known for his 45-foot birdie putt that won the Ryder Cup in 1999. Cink was an assistant Ryder Cup captain in Italy in 2023. He'll be an assistant for the second time.
