Aubrey, a retired U.S. Army colonel and former acting chief of police with the Louisville Police Department, where he served 28 years, passed away Tuesday night.

Sheriff John Aubrey was also a retired Colonel from the U.S. Army and former acting Chief of Police with the Louisville Police Department, where he served for 28 years.
