LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Visitation and funeral arrangements have been confirmed for Jefferson County Sheriff John Aubrey, who died earlier this week. 

Aubrey, a retired U.S. Army colonel and former acting chief of police with the Louisville Police Department, where he served 28 years, passed away Tuesday night. He was 86 years old. 

Funeral arrangements have been tentatively set for next week. Visitation is scheduled for Oct. 1, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Southeast Christian Church. His funeral at the church will be  held at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 2, with burial immediately following at St. Michael Cemetery at 1300 Ellison Avenue.
