In the race for Jefferson County Sheriff, there are three challengers looking to defeat the incumbent, John Aubrey, in the Democratic primary.
No Republicans filed for the race, so the winner of the Democratic primary will most likely be Jefferson County’s next sheriff.
Aubrey, a retired U.S. Army colonel and former acting chief of police with the Louisville Police Department, where he served 28 years, passed away Tuesday night.
