The bridge spanning over the Ohio River connecting Louisville to southern Indiana abruptly closed on March 8.

INDOT advised drivers to find alternate routes, mainly Interstates 265 and 65 between Kentucky and Indiana.

The 56-year-old bridge is in need of several upgrades, including new steel and paint and will cost $90 million.
