Construction is set to commence soon on the new Blackiston Mill Bridge following the reopening of the current bridge last summer after being closed due to a dam failure.

Blackiston Mill Bridge, which connects New Albany and Clarksville, reopened Friday after closing in February.

The bridge, which runs over Silver Creek, has been closed since February after the dam failed underneath it.

More than 20,000 drivers used the bridge each day before it abruptly shut down earlier this year.
