NEW ALBANY, Ind. (WDRB) -- A bridge over Silver Creek on Blackiston Mill Road is closed indefinitely due to a dam failure in southern Indiana.
Floyd County EMA said the Blackiston Mill Road Bridge will be closed until an inspector can test the bridge. Floyd County EMA said a bridge inspection is scheduled for Monday.
The bridge is in New Albany near Charlestown Road.
The roadway is closed at Blackiston Boulevard, according to Floyd County EMA. There isn't a risk of flooding despite the dam failure, according to Floyd County EMA.
In 2023, the bridge closed after a hole opened up on the roadway on the bridge.
The bridge is maintained by the Floyd County Highway Department. Blackiston Mill Road connects Clarksville to New Albany.
