Thousands of athletes compete in the Louisville marathon, but for one athlete she had to learn to swim to compete in the triathalon.

As part of a new contract with the city, the triathlon will be held the second Sunday in October instead of during the month of August -- which many have considered part of the toughness and grit of Louisville's event.
