LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The University of Louisville will name one of its own and make a historic move with its new men’s basketball coach, …
The University of Louisville’s pursuit of former Cardinal Kenny Payne as the school’s next men’s basketball coach intensified Wednesday after the school received permission from the New York Knicks to interview Payne, the Knicks’ top assistant.
The University of Louisville men’s basketball team needs a complete makeover: backcourt, front court, mid court, court side, courtyard.
When Kenny Payne was in the mix for head college coaching positions during his time as an assistant with the University of Kentucky, several former Wildcats were outspoken advocates that Payne deserved his opportunity to run a team.
The clip, apparently filmed after the Cards beat the Wildcats on Dec. 26, 2020, went viral after being posted to Twitter on Saturday.
Maybe reviving the Knicks can get Payne the head coaching opportunity that he should have gotten from college basketball.
The 53-year-old Payne played his college basketball at the University of Louisville, winning a national championship in 1986.
