Court records show Lawson's attorney filed the documents on Wednesday, April 15.
Houck was being housed at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Johnson County after being transferred from the Oldham County Detention Center in November.
The filing comes about two months after attorneys for Lawson asked a judge to either grant him a new trial or throw out the May 30 guilty verdict, arguing he was denied a fair trial.
Closing arguments begin Monday.
Brooks Houck, Rogers' boyfriend at the time of her disappearance, and his alleged accomplice, Joseph Lawson, will stand trial in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Five Louisville media outlets, including WDRB, asked Nelson Circuit Court Judge Charles Simms III on Friday to allow a camera in the courtroom for the first trial in the murder of Crystal Rogers, which begins Tuesday morning in Bowling Green.
