LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — We’ve surged past the two-thirds mark of the 2024 college football season and eased into the football/basketball overlap.
The records say that Louisville is one game behind where many projected the Cardinals to be. Kentucky has been a major underachiever and is on track to fail to become bowl eligible.
Indiana is the surprise team in college football, one win away from setting a school record. And Western Kentucky has its eyes on a conference championship, with a head coach (Tyson Helton) other programs are reportedly eyeballing.
But what do some of the other numbers say — like ESPN’s Football Power Index, Jeff Sagarin’s computer formula and the oddsmakers for this weekend’s slate of games?
One thing FPI and Sagarin continue to say is that despite their 5-3 record, the Cardinals are one of the top 25 teams in the nation in both computer formulas.
Jeff Brohm’s team will have its chance to validate that assessment Saturday at Clemson.
