JJ Traynor

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Add another name to the list of University of Louisville men's basketball players who have reportedly entered the NCAA Transfer portal.

According to Joe Tipton of On3Sports.com, U of L senior forward J.J. Traynor will to join Kaleb Glenn, Curtis Williams and Koron Davis in the portal.

A spokesperson for the U of L program said Tuesday that Traynor had yet to officially request a transfer. Players who enter the portal have the option to return.

Traynor played parts of four seasons with the Cards as a member of Chris Mack's 2020 recruiting class. He averaged 10.1 points and 4.6 rebounds this season but only played eight games before suffering an injury that required surgery to his right shoulder.

A 6-foot-8-inch forward from Bardstown, Traynor started three games. He scored in double figures three times, including a season-high 20 points in a victory over New Mexico State.

Traynor participated in Senior Day ceremonies during Louisville's final home game against Boston College on March 9. He's the son of former Louisville player Jason Osborne.

Louisville fired Kenny Payne as its head coach last Wednesday. Athletic director Josh Heird is leading the search for Payne's replacement.
