LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville City FC has won back-to-back games after a 4-1 victory over Monterey Bay FC at Lynn Family Stadium on Saturday.

LouCity returned to first place with the win.

“We talked to the group about getting back on a run," LouCity coach Danny Cruz said. "We were pretty tired of the wins and losses back and forth but in the end, it’s about sticking to the progress. I thought we came out with the right mentality — the right energy."

LouCity didn't wait long to take control of the match.

Jake Morris scored in the third minute for an early advantage. Wilson Harris then scored on an assist from Aiden McFadden four minutes later for a two-goal lead.

"Aiden got the ball out wide and served a perfect cross to my noggin and I headed it home far post," Harris said. "It felt good. We talked about doing that all year, and it finally happened."

Harris now has 12 goals, which ranks second in the USL Championship's Golden Boot race.

Monterey Bay answered in the 24th minute, but LouCity had a quick response.

Elijah Wynder headed in a service from Taylor Davila for a 3-1 lead in the 28th minute.

Sam Gleadle scored in the 81st minute for the match's final goal.

LouCity (14-4-2) will host Germany's Eintracht Frankfurt for an international friendly Tuesday.
