Louisville City FC plays against Miami FC on June 1, 2024.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville City FC continued its unbeaten streak with a 2-1 victory over Miami FC on Saturday night.

Playing in its third game in eight days, LouCity scored a late goal on a penalty kick from Sean Totsch to extend its unbeaten streak to seven games. With the win, LouCity (9-1-2) moves ahead of Charleston Battery for first place.

"These players have been though it this month — no question about it," LouCity coach Danny Cruz said. "I thought we started the game really well. The first half was pretty good, and in the second half it was pretty clear we fatigued — tired out. We grinded, we fought, and we defended the box."

Elijah Wynder scored the game's first goal in the 31st minute on an assist from Adrien Perez.

Miami FC's Frank Lopez evened the match in the 61st minute.

LouCity finished with five shots on goal.
