LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville City FC passed its first test of the postseason Saturday night.
The boys in purple defeated North Carolina FC, 3-2, in the USL Championship Playoffs Eastern Conference Quarterfinals at Lynn Family Stadium.
North Carolina took an early 1-0 lead in the 11th minute but LouCity responded with a pair of goals in the 20th and 24th minute to take a lead it wouldn't give up.
Ray Serrano then put the match out of reach in the 54th minute with a goal to make it a 3-1 lead.
North Carolina scored in extra time to cut it to 3-2 but LouCity held on and advanced.
LouCity will face the winner of Indy Eleven vs Rhode Island FC in the semifinals.
