LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville forward Anaya Hardy announced Tuesday that she plans to enter the transfer portal, bringing an end to her first two seasons with the Cardinals.
Hardy, a 6-foot-3-inch sophomore from Detroit, made the announcement in a post on her Instagram account, thanking Louisville’s coaches, teammates and fans.
"Louisville will always be special to me," Hardy wrote. "This decision came with heavy thought, but now it’s time for me to begin the next part of my journey. I have decided to enter the transfer portal."
Hardy averaged 4.9 points and 4.7 rebounds last season for Jeff Walz’s team, starting 27 games. Though she held a regular place in the starting lineup for much of the year, she averaged just under 11.5 minutes per game.

She quickly became a fan favorite for her athleticism, particularly her ability to dunk during pregame warmups.
In her message, Hardy said Louisville’s coaching staff "pushed me to be 1% better every day," and thanked her teammates, saying they became "a second family." She also praised the Cardinals’ fan base, calling the Louisville community "one of a kind."
"I’ve never felt so seen and appreciated like I have playing in front of the Louisville crowd," Hardy wrote.
Hardy has two years of eligibility remaining.
She's the second Louisville player entering the portal, joining Isla Juffermans, who redshirted last season with an injury.
