LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Louisville football has revealed the latest two players who will be honored with their jersey numbers joining those of other program greats around L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium.

As part of the program's reveal of its theme nights for the 2024 season, the Cardinals announced they will honor quarterback Teddy Bridgewater's No. 5 and wide receiver Harry Douglas's No. 85. Bridgewater's ceremony will be on Oct. 19 against Miami and the Cards will honor Douglas on Sept. 7 when they host Jacksonville State.

Bridgewater is one of Louisville's defining players. He became one of the program's all-time great quarterbacks, leading the Cardinals to a 2013 Sugar Bowl victory over Florida and a 2014 Russell Athletic Bowl win over Miami.

The former NFL first-round pick is Louisville's all-time leader in completion percentage (68.4%) and wins (27). He also ranks in the top five for career passing yards (9,817) and touchdowns (72).

Bridgewater recently retired after 10 NFL seasons and is now the head coach for his high school alma mater in south Florida, Miami Northwestern.

Douglas still ranks as one of the best wide receivers the Cardinals have ever produced. He ranks second in Louisville history with 2,924 career receiving yards while also adding 15 touchdowns over 46 games. As a senior in 2007, he set the single-game receiving yardage record against Kentucky with 233 yards, a record that still stands today.

Like Bridgewater, Douglas also spent 10 years in the NFL. You can see him now on ESPN and its various networks as a contributor for college and pro football coverage.
