Craft 2016 serves up pizza and beer under the Second Street Bridge Oct. 1st

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Curing cystic fibrosis, one party at a time!

Cure CF, Inc., a Louisville non-profit, brings back Craft 2016 - a premier pizza and beer festival.

The second-annual event joins the Louisville food and brewing scene with a great cause, the fight against cystic fibrosis.

Craft 2016 happens on Saturday, October 1st from 7-10 pm at the Second Street Bridgescape located under the Clark Memorial/Second Street Bridge in Downtown Louisville.

All new in 2016 is an early-access, VIP celebration from 6-7pm.

In its inaugural year, more than 600 people enjoyed Craft 2015, sampling some of the region's best craft pizza and beer.

The event was the brainchild of three families: the Klausings, parents of Luke (9 years old); the Foushees, parents of Alex (3 years old), and the Sweeneys, parents of Samuel (2 years old).

The children all have cystic fibrosis.

The families came together with the goal to create a unique event in Louisville to raise funds for a cure.

Seventeen local breweries will take part this year and pizza from some of the area's top craft pizzerias and restaurants.

Enjoy live music and have the chance to bid on deluxe packages in a silent auction.

Tickets available at and at the door, $65.

Tickets include admission, plus food and drink samples.

VIP tickets for early access, $95.

Cure CF, Inc is non-profit, volunteer organization made up of parents with kids fighting cystic fibrosis.

It exists to raise money that goes toward research to cure CF, as the parents believe that the next dollar raised could be the one to end this disease forever.

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening genetic disease that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system.

An estimated 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide) have CF.
