LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Derby City Curling Club prepares for their annual tournament.
WDRB's Keith Kaiser joined some curling fans before a big weekend of curling.
Derby City Curling Club hosts teams from all over the country in the 2nd annual BourbonSpiel "On the Rocks".
A bonspiel is a curling tournament with multiple games and a closing ceremony involving a parade and bagpiper.
Until the 20th century most bonspiels were held outdoors, on frozen freshwater lakes, but now all over the world, they are held at ice arenas and dedicated curling clubs.
Derby City Curling Club's event happens at the historic Alpine Ice Arena, March 1st through the 3rd.
Registration is ongoing for participants.
Spectators do not need to register and are welcome.
