LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- "Pippin" is back on Broadway for the first time since it thrilled audiences 40 years ago.

And in the starring role is movie and tv actress Adrienne Barbeau. Audiences first came to know her as the daughter on the groundbreaking sitcom "Maude."  Many others remember her iconic poster that caught the attention of young men in the 1970s.  Today she is touring the country with "Pippin" performing as Berthe. It's a demanding role that calls for acting, singing and swinging from a trapeze!

Barbeau is a Broadway veteran with roles in "Fiddler on the Roof" and a Tony nomination for playing Rizzo in "Grease."  She's also found her place in the heart of horror fans as a 1980s "scream queen" in 25 films that include "The Fog," "Escape From New York," "Swamp Thing," and  "Creepshow."  She's also made more than 500 television appearances with "Maude" and HBO's "Carnivale" among her favorites. She is a also a best-selling author and the mother of three sons.
