Many of us overnight were woken up to the sound of thunder, wind, hail, and heavy rain. Many locations in Southern Indiana and other parts of our viewing area reported damage. These ranged from tree damage, power line damage, to property damage. Here are a few pictures from around our area sent in from viewers this morning:

Due to the many reports of damage, the National Weather Service in Louisville is going to be going out today and conducting damage surveys to help determine whether damage was from straight-line winds or possibly a tornado.

Initially, the NWS is going to start in Northern Clark County, around the Underwood, IN area. The surveys, per the NWS, will be focused mainly on the Indiana side for now, but are taking notes on additional damage reports from parts of Kentucky as well, such as Trimble and Henry counties.

We will have more updates on what the NWS finds from these surveys and additional areas that will be looked at through the day today and tonight on WDRB News at 10 with Hannah Strong.
