Watch vs. Warning

Meteorologist Hannah Strong explains the difference between a Watch and a Warning when the weather gets active

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Ingredients of something

  • The finished thing. I chose cake - tacos, cookies, sandwich all work well, too.

WHAT YOU DO:

  • Show the difference between a Watch (the ingredients are all here but there's no finished thing yet) and a Warning (the ingredients all came together and now the thing is here with the finished cake)

DISCUSSION IDEAS:

  • What is the difference between a watch and a warning?
  • What should you do when you're under a Watch?
  • What should you do when you're under a Warning?
  • Where is your safe place at school? At home?
