LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A motorcyclist was killed Saturday afternoon in a crash on Interstate 64 West in Louisville.

Matthew Sanders, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police, said a crash was reported just after 3 p.m.

Police said a motorcyclist crashed into a guardrail on the ramp from I-64 West to Interstate 264 East.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, but speed was a contributing factor, police said. The motorcyclist died at the scene.

LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating.

The roadway reopened just before 6:30 p.m.
