LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A 47-year-old man was arrested Saturday after allegedly touching and following a 14-year-old girl who was looking for her missing dog in Shively.

According to court documents, the Shively Police Department responded to the 2700 block of Crums Lane after family said a man with no shirt possibly tried to kidnap their daughter.

The victim told police a man approached her and asked for money. But when she said she didn't have any, the man allegedly began touching her, pulled her shirt and ripped it. She told police that he also touched her buttocks several times.

Police said her mother and sister saw the man following her.

Court documents say police found a possible suspect, identified as Lonza Manuel, in the 3500 block of Burrell Drive. Police said they could smell alcohol on him.

Police said Manuel told officers he was walking home and did not come into contact with the victim. Court documents say police detained Manuel and took him to the victim’s address, where she identified him as the suspect.

Manuel was charged with harassment — physical contact, sexual abuse and alcohol intoxication in a public place.

In court Monday morning, Manuel plead not guilty and a $25,000 bond was set. He's expected to next appear in court July 14 for a preliminary hearing.
