LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville man is facing multiple charges after police said they discovered videos allegedly depicting him sexually abusing a child.

Matthew Waterbury, 40, was arrested Thursday and charged with first-degree sexual abuse involving a victim under the age of 12, promoting a minor under 16 in a sexual performance and possessing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor under 12.

According to the arrest citation, investigators received a tip that an email address — which included Waterbury's name and phone number — was accessing child sex abuse material.

Detectives were then able to view the reported material, the citation said, and they saw two videos that allegedly show Waterbury sexually abusing a 9-year-old child.

Additionally, detectives found at least five photos of children under the age of 12 involved in "either a sex act or lascivious exhibition."

Waterbury was scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning. He is currently being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $100,000 bond.
