LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro government is looking to buy property in the city's south end for a first responder training facility.
The city allocated $6 million in the current budget for the project.
Mayor Craig Greenberg's office said the property off Dixie Highway, just south of the Gene Snyder, was the right size and location.
Before finalizing the purchase, the city will estimate the cost to fully develop the training facility.
The city also hopes to get funding from the state for the project, which leaders said is a regional project.
The training facility would support police, fire and EMS.
