LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Nearly 1,600 people are living on the street in Louisville.
However, according to the city, there are only enough shelter beds for a about a 1,000 of them.
Louisville leaders want your thoughts on the city's homeless problem, and how to create more access to shelters.
The Office of Planning is hosting listening sessions. The first one is next Monday, Aug. 26, at 6 p.m. at the Northeast Regional Library, located at 15 Bellevoir Circle.
Other meetings are as follows:
- Tuesday, Aug. 27 from 3-7 p.m. at Bon Air Library, 2816 Del Rio Place
- Thursday, Aug. 29 at 6 p.m. at Shively-Newman Library, 3920 Dixie Highway
- Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. at Shawnee Library, 3912 W. Broadway
