TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Families in Louisville can pick up new sports gear this week at a free athleticwear giveaway hosted by a Metro councilwoman.

Residents can choose from new hoodies and cleats at no cost, with adult sizes available while supplies last.

The giveaway is supported by A-ONE Allstars, which donated 450 pieces of athleticwear. The contribution will help families who may be struggling to afford new gear.

“This is a great chance for residents to get the gear they need — or help someone who does,” Councilwoman Tammy Hawkins said in a news release.

The event is set for Wednesday, Dec. 3, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Dare to Care Community Kitchen, 1200 South 28th St. Residents can choose from new hoodies and cleats at no cost.

For more information, residents can contact Hawkins’ office at (502) 574-1101.
