LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- As Kentuckiana tries to beat the heat as temperatures soar, Louisville's beloved steamboat is ready to chart a course for fun.
A cruise on the Belle of Louisville is a great way to make "a breezy escape on the water."
The steamboat's cruise season started March 28, the 111th year of cruises along the Ohio River.
The Belle had to withdraw from the Great Steamboat race in April to undergo repairs to its fuel tank.
Now that it is back up and running, The Belle will will set of on her first cruise of the 2025 season on June 26 with a fan-favorite: the #ThrowbackThursday cruise. The event will feature retro tunes and drink specials from 7-9 p.m.
"We’re thrilled to have the Belle of Louisville officially joining the Mary M. Miller for another unforgettable summer," Krista Snider, CEO of Belle of Louisville Riverboats, said in a news release. "With both vessels cruising again, we’re offering more opportunities than ever for our locals and visitors alike to experience Louisville from a whole new perspective. We’re full steam ahead and can’t wait to see everyone onboard."
