LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Some Louisville Metro councilmembers teamed up with local organizations to host a series of free dog clinics. 

Councilmembers Andrew Owen, D-9, Donna Purvis, D-5, Ben Reno-Weber, D-8, Jennifer Chappell, D-15, Stuart Benson, R-20, and Ginny Mulvey-Woolridge, R-24, partnered with Metro Animal Services and EthanAlmighty to host free clinics for dogs.

The clinics will run through December, held monthly on the last Sunday of the month. The next clinic is 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, Aug. 31.

The clinic will offer spay and neuter services, microchipping and vaccinations to 50 pre-registered dogs. Local veterinarians will perform the surgeries, and the dogs will recover at Metro Animal Services.
