LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- As children head back to school this week, a Louisville neighborhood is holding a bash to remind residents that summer is not over yet.

The annual Newburg Days Festival is happening this weekend in Petersburg/Newburg Park. The event features a parade, vendors, lots of food booths, kid's activities, and a basketball tournament.

Councilwoman Barbara Shanklin helped organize the event, which focuses on culture, community, and family.

It's a gathering many in the area say they never miss.

The festivities, food, and fun will continue Sunday from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m.
