LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- If you've been thinking about bringing a dog into your family, you can adopt one at the Kentucky Humane Society this weekend with no adoption fees.Â
According to a news release Friday, KHS is partnering with MetLife Pet Insurance this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 13-14, to waive adoption fees for all dogs one year and older at the Sam Swope Pet TLC and East Campus adoption centers.
The dogs have already been spayed or neutered, microchipped and are up to date on shots. Adopters do need to pay the leash/collar fee of $10 and Jefferson County residents pay a $10.50 licensing fee.
"We are extremely grateful for partners like MetLife Pet Insurance who support our shelter and encourage adoption," Sara Rehfeld, shelter operations director at KHS, said in the news release. "KHS has so many amazing pets in our care right now, representing a wide range of ages, breeds and energy levels. You're bound to find someone who fits your lifestyle."
