LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Local Muslims gathered Saturday to display the culture of Palestine.
Palestinian Awareness Day took place Saturday at Guiding Light Islamic Center on Six Mile Lane.
The festival was designed after a bazaar to celebrate Palestinian culture. Along with the food, the event was about education and learning about Palestinian life and history.
"We are so happy that many Americans, many people from Louisville, our neighbors and our friends came to experience this," event organizer Lina Yassine said. "We have beautiful cuisine, we have beautiful dresses and culture and our history is deep-rooted."
The event was free and open to anyone who wanted to attend.
