LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man is dead after a stabbing early Thursday in Jeffersonville, according to police.

Jeffersonville Police said officers were called to a disturbance around 1 a.m. in the 800 block of Walnut Street. When officers arrived, they found a man with a stab wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said all involved parties were immediately detained. Investigators believe the incident was isolated and said there is no threat to the public.

The neighbors, however, were shocked by what happened.

"Most of what you see around here is pretty quiet," said Alyson Hohman, who lives down the street from where the stabbing occurred.

Valerie Bonilla, who heard the incident as it was happening, said she is worried about the safety of the kids in the neighborhood.

“We got kids here all around the block, like we have my neighbors out there with their kids walking around," Bonilla said. "It's obviously not safe for the kids.”

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
