LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Fairdale High School girls' volleyball team presented a check for $14,225 to Shirley's Way, today after raising donations during their annual Pink Week.

During Pink Week, the team sold shirts, bracelets, ribbons, and other items with a new design each year. The team also hosted a change war all week long.

Shirley's Way is a Louisville-based organization that helps cancer patients pay for their medical and other expenses. With the donation by Fairdale High School, it will help around 14 people pay for their medical expenses.

Shirley's Way complemented the team and coaches in a Facebook post today, stating "They are the most creative kids and coaches at raising money. They raised over $14,000 during the month of Oct. Pretty incredible. They rock!!"

This is Fairdale's 5th year raising money for the organization.
