LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- You can roll up your sleeves and help save lives during an American Red Cross Blood Drive next week at the KFC Yum! Center.
"Donating blood is one of the simplest things a person can do to help celebrate a person's life and help save a patient's life," organizers said in a news release Thursday. "When every second counts, blood products can provide lifesaving treatment."
The blood drive is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 3, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the arena in downtown Louisville.
Organizers are encouraging donors to register in advance for the drive. Free parking will be provided for donors in the Yum! Center parking garage, which can be entered off 3rd Street.
Donors are asked to enter the center from the west side of the main entrance off Main Street, which can also be accessed from the elevator on the 3rd Street side of the parking garage.
Donors will be able to choose a $15 e-gift card that will be sent to them after donating.
To donate, donors have to have either a blood donor card or driver's license, or two other forms of ID, to check in.
To register, click here and enter sponsor code KFCYUM. You can also download the Red Cross Donor App and use the same code to register, or call 1-800-733-2767.
