Cows on farm in southern Indiana
- Updated
Several farmers, including Karen Foster of Jeffersonville, have reported losing animals to black vultures.

The vultures are protected by a 101-year-old law, the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918, which means the farmers cannot harm them.
Black vultures are a common sight at Foxhollow Farm. The destructive birds have preyed on calves, cows and sheep at the farm in Oldham County.
