Players compete at the 50th Dirt Bowl basketball tournament

Newburg was crowned the champions of the 50th installment of the Dirt Bowl after defeating Business As Usual by a score of 59-54.
Watkins and Janis Carter Miller founded the Dirt Bowl amateur basketball tournament while working for Metro Parks in 1969 with the goal of uniting people of all races during a time of turmoil both locally and nationally.
The annual basketball tournament begins its seven-week season on June 11.
