The River Heritage Conservancy and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources are hosting a meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library to discuss options with the public.
Since being elected in 2007, McLaughlin served as the representative for the 4th District in the city in southern Indiana.
Patrick McLaughlin, 64, who served for more than 10 years, died last month after an illness.
