Every year, thousands of firearms seized by local police departments in Kentucky are auctioned off by Kentucky State Police to federally licensed firearm dealers. Money generated from these auctions have helped fund Kentucky's local police departments. (Photo courtesy of KSP)

Jefferson Circuit Court Judge Melissa Logan Bellows ruled Wednesday that it is unconstitutional for prosecutors to prosecute Jecory Lamont Frazier under a state law prohibiting felons from owning a gun because it doesnāt outweigh the 2nd Amendment right that belongs to āall Americans.ā
āIāve made a lot of people mad and Iāve made a lot of people happy,ā Jefferson Circuit Court Judge Melissa Logan Bellows said of her March 13 ruling. āBut thatās the job of the judge.ā
