LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Multiple people were injured in a three-vehicle crash Monday night on Interstate 71 South near the Barbour Lane overpass.

Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Aaron Ellis said the crash occurred at 9:56 p.m. at the 7.2 mile marker.

Anchorage Middletown Fire & EMS crews responded to the scene. Police said at least six people were receiving medical treatment, but the extent of the injuries were not known.

All southbound lanes on I-71 in that area were blocked while crews respond to the crash but have since opened back up.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
