LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Metro Police are investigating after two men were shot in what detectives believe are related incidents in south Louisville late Monday night.

According to LMPD, officers were first called just before 10:30 p.m. to the 8800 block of South Third Street Road on reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a man in the parking lot outside a business suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers provided first aid until emergency medical crews arrived.

The man was taken to University Hospital. Police said he was alert and conscious, and his injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

Just minutes later, officers were called to another reported shooting near the intersection of New Cut Road and South Third Street Road.

Police found a second man near a vehicle with a gunshot wound. Officers again provided first aid until EMS arrived. The victim was also transported to University Hospital with injuries that are expected to be non-life-threatening.

Detectives are working to determine the relationship, if any, between the two victims and what led up to the shootings. Investigators believe the incidents are connected.

The LMPD Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is leading the investigation.
