LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A 23-year-old woman died Saturday after a two-vehicle crash in Floyd County, according to the Floyd County Sheriff's Office.
The crash happened around 12:15 p.m. at U.S. 150 and Lawrence Banet Road in Floyds Knobs.
Investigators said 32-year-old Dalton Smith of Georgetown, Indiana, was driving north on U.S. 150 when his vehicle collided with another vehicle that was turning left from southbound U.S. 150 onto Lawrence Banet Road.
The Ford Focus collided with the Honda Accord in the intersection, according to the sheriff's office.
The driver of the Honda, 23-year-old Julia Christie, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Floyd County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating. Authorities said formal charges against Smith are expected.
The investigation remains ongoing.
