LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — An Oldham County man spent nearly eight hours barricaded inside a LaGrange home before police found him hiding in the attic early Saturday morning.
Oldham County deputies went to a home on West Moody Lane shortly after 8 p.m. Friday to serve an outstanding warrant for Dillian Barber.
Police said Barber saw officers arrive and barricaded himself inside the home. After trying to communicate with him, officers were unable to get him to come out.
Police from St. Matthews and Louisville assisted Oldham County officers during the standoff. St. Matthews Police brought an armored vehicle, while LMPD provided a K-9. Oldham County Police also used its drone and SWAT teams.
Around 5:20 a.m., officers used chemical agents and flashbangs before entering the home, police said.
That's when officers found Barber hiding in the attic and took him into custody.
Barber is now charged with resisting arrest. Police said he also had outstanding warrants for fleeing or evading police, a probation violation and violating a Kentucky emergency protective order.
No other injuries were reported in connection with the standoff.
